Troubleshooting
CfxKit won’t start
Section titled “CfxKit won’t start”- Confirm you are on Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit).
- Try the portable build if the installer build misbehaves.
- Check Windows Event Viewer for crash logs.
AI chat
Section titled “AI chat”No response, or it loads forever
Section titled “No response, or it loads forever”- Confirm you are signed in (CfxKit AI needs an account).
- Check your internet connection.
- If you use your own key, verify it in settings.
”Monthly limit reached”
Section titled “”Monthly limit reached””You have used your monthly token allowance. Either upgrade your plan at cfxkit.com/pricing, or add your own API key for unlimited usage. See Bring Your Own Key.
”Invalid or expired token”
Section titled “”Invalid or expired token””Your session expired. Sign out and back in.
Database
Section titled “Database””No database selected” in Build
Section titled “”No database selected” in Build”Connect to MySQL first in the Database Manager. The export toggle only appears with an active connection.
Can’t connect
Section titled “Can’t connect”- Confirm the MySQL or MariaDB server is running.
- Recheck host, port, username, and password.
- Allow remote connections if the database is not on localhost.
Server management
Section titled “Server management”FXServer won’t start
Section titled “FXServer won’t start”- Confirm FXServer is installed and the path is set.
- Make sure
server.cfghas a valid license key. - Read the console output for the specific error.
Console shows garbled text
Section titled “Console shows garbled text”Your terminal may not support color codes. It is cosmetic and does not affect the server.
Performance
Section titled “Performance”Slow file tree
Section titled “Slow file tree”CfxKit virtualizes the file tree. With thousands of files the first scan takes a few seconds; later loads are cached.
High memory
Section titled “High memory”- Close unused tabs.
- Stop resources you are not working on.
- Restart CfxKit if it climbs past about 1 GB.
